Job Title:Business Analyst
Description:Business Analyst - Surrey, Surrey JOB PURPOSE: This role is to provide a systems analysis, testing and project management function, primarily for the Partnership and PPA customer base for all post implementation technical Change Management. It would therefore involve working with the Account Managers to understand the customer's requirements, creating the functional design specification, project managing the application configuration, system testing and working with the Account Manager to achieve sign off for the project. KEY OBJECTIVES: 1. To provide systems analysis resource for the Account Management team. 2. To ensure that testing is completed for all change requests for existing customers. 3. To assist Account Managers in project managing complex change projects for existing customers. KEY DUTIES/TASKS: To organise and run meetings or workshops with customers to analyse customer's Requests for Change (RFC). To produce a Functional Requirement Specification detailing the RFC ensuring that documents include statutory changes. To work with the Managed Payroll Services (MPS) team to ensure that any change to procedures and work practices are understood and fit in to existing contractual agreements. To work with third party project managers and the Account Manager to establish a project plan and where agreed, manage the project plan to ensure target dates are met. To accurately document the change to processes and procedures in the Managed Payroll Services (MPS) Payroll Procedures Manual including data format, deadlines, process flows and payroll-processing schedules. To liase with the Operations team, Consultancy and MPS team to develop test plans and to organise and perform adequate system and user testing to ensure that any development meets the RFC. Where necessary to perform system training for clients and for MPS. To work with the Account Manager to obtain formal client sign off for the project plan, Functional Specification and Payroll Procedures Manual. To work with the Account Manager to ensure that the project is running to established time scales, attend project meetings and provide progress reports to the Account Manager and client. To carry out walkthroughs for larger requirements by going through any changes with DSG developers, client services and marketing. To work with the Change Management board to ensure correct prioritisation of development work. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Will be expected to work under own initiative for day-to-day tasks in line with overall management guidance. Reports to the Consultancy Team Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Ability to work under time constraints essential. Ability to prepare and conduct formal presentations Adaptable and flexible team player. Service oriented aptitude with good written and verbal communication skills. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 3+ year's payroll experience. Good working knowledge of payroll legislation including IPPM Diploma Proven ability to operate in client facing meetings, with contacts at all levels of seniority. Computer literate, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). OTHER REQUIREMENTS: The jobholder will frequently be required to travel to client locations throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland, and may occasionally be expected to stay overnight where relevant. This role will involve a mixture of both office and field based work.
