Financial Planner- New Business Consultant
Our client a market leader in financial planning are seeking New Business Consultants. It is essential that you have group pensions experience and are fully FPC Qualified to be considered for this role. My clients remuneration package is some of the best on offer, The top earner within this role last year made £235,000.
New Business Consultants are committed, driven, results oriented advisers who are able to work on their own as well as in a team environment writing business in accordance with targets.
New Business Consultants advise primarily on Occupational Pension Schemes (DB and DC), Group Personal Pension Plans, Stakeholder Pensions and Supplementary Employee Benefit Plans.
New Business Consultants are expected to introduce other specialist where appropriate. These include:
Professional Trustee Services
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
§Attend level of first meetings at prospective client companies (made by Direct Marketing)
§Prepare scheme audit reports/quotations for presentation to prospective clients
§Make and attend 2nd meeting (with RD)
-Present proposal /3rd/4th etc
§Agree establishment process with “client”
§Undertake employee presentations and, where appropriate, individual consultations
§Ensure Client Managers, Account Executives, Actuarial and Client Services are thoroughly briefed to take over new clients in accordance with installation procedures.
§Maintain a continuing “watching brief” usually with the client's “decision makers”
§Generate interest for and introduce other specialists to prospects where appropriate both at 1st meetings and subsequently wherever possible
§Meet all KPIs for New Business Consultants
§Be compliant in all activities in accordance with regulations and standards.
§Meet continuing professional development objectives as required by the FSA
§Maintain appropriate skills and knowledge in order to provide specialist, professional independent financial advice in all relevant business areas.
§Comply with all T&D requirements of for the role.
§3/5 first “fact find/prospecting” meetings
§2/3 2nd/3rd “report presentation/sales” meetings
§1 day sales training / 1:1 session with RD (every Friday)
§Liaising with other team members re scheme implementation
§Regular support meetings with RD
-Attendance at all 2nd/sales meetings

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
§Proven track record in Financial Services with an excellent knowledge of all aspects of the corporate and individual pensions market
§Minimum of three years Group Pensions/GPP/GSH sales experience
§General understanding of all aspects of financial planning.
§Excellent sales record over a number of years (minimum three).
§Full Financial Planning Certificate (essential)
§G60 and/or AFPC (highly desirable)
§Be professional at all times with prospects and clients
§Presentation skills, both 1:1 and to groups.
§Capable of competently using PowerPoint and other visual aids and software packages.
§Ability to present professionally to Executives and Corporate, groups of employees and Trustee Boards.
