Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for a Credit Controller to join their finance team based in Shipley, West Yorkshire. The main purpose of this role is to provide the company with its sole debt recovery and credit control resource. Your responsibilities will include cash collection, advising managers on the production of account statements and invoices and dealing with account and invoice queries. You will also be expected to carry out credit checks, liaise with solicitors to chase overdue accounts, post cash onto the sales ledger and deal with general banking tasks.
The successful candidate will probably be a member of the Institute of Credit Management with a recognised qualification and it would be desirable if an Association of Accounting Technician qualification was also held. It is essential that you have extensive experience of post qualifying and current credit control, debt recovery and sales ledger experience from within a professional services or consultancy environment. It is also essential that you have some knowledge of accounting / credit management and financial systems and that you are proactive in account and client management. A born communicator, both written and verbal, you will be confident when dealing with people at all levels and you will be prepared to rely on your own decision making skills. You must be quick to act and you will be able to demonstrate a differential and flexibility in approach when chasing debt depending on the client and circumstances with the account.|
