Job Title:Product Manager
Description:Product Manager - Northampton , Northamptonshire Company Information Our client was founded in 1966 and is the leading credit card provider in the UK with 8.4 mln customers. 1 in 5 credit cards in the UK are issued by our client. Role Purpose Assist with the performance management & development of specific products within the (UK Acquiring/International Acquiring/UK Issuing) Business Performance Unit (BPU) product portfolio. Principal Accountabilities Product Strategy (10%) Understanding of Strategic Business Unit (SBU), Business Performance Unit (BPU) and product strategies for specified segments of the market Be aware of elements of competitive advantage/disadvantage for specified products within the product portfolio, and collate information and present to line manager for consideration Liaise with Senior Product Manager to support BPU planning process and input to Medium Term Plan (MTP) & Short Term Plan (STP) Performance Management (50%) Assist with delivery of revenue, cost and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets for specified product(s)within the product portfolio Assist with monitoring product performance to ensure proactive and remedial recommendations are taken to the BPU Performance Boards for approval to ensure achievement of results Implementing necessary changes to specific products within the product portfolio to meet regulatory and compliance requirements Monitoring service level agreements and resolving operational service issues as they arise Understand the end to end process of specific products in order to identify enhancements/developments and delivery of cost reductions Resolution of day-to-day queries regarding specific products Work closely with customers and colleagues to review performance of specific products and identify and recommend new concepts/enhancements Product Development (40%) Deliver agreed specific product development/enhancements to time, cost and quality targets etc. Accountable for the end to end delivery of specific new or enhanced products or services aligned to BPU, MTP/STP Adhere to the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, professional disciplines and compliance Management and engagement with Change Delivery, 3rd party vendors to enable delivery of specific new products/services Accountable for production of business case, reporting of benefits and Strategic Investment (SI) spend to BPU for specific products Ensure supporting information for specific new or enhanced products is delivered e.g. product documentation and sales training Candidate Specifications Technical Skills/Competencies Product management skills Product development skills Market/customer awareness Problem solving Planning & organisation Ability to work effectively in a matrix structure Knowledge and Expertise (relating to specialist knowledge and expertise required to undertake the role. May include knowledge of the Banks products, services and policies) - Essential Knowledge of the products within the portfolio Knowledge of internal and external systems/infrastructure critical to product fulfillment and service Knowledge of competitors products e.g. capabilities and price Working knowledge of and ability to apply the following: New Product Introduction Process (NPI); Prince 2 methodology; business case construction and Value Based Management (VBM) principles Experience, qualifications and other requirements specific to the role Strong and proven track record of Product Management & Project Management Customer orientated driven by customer requirements Knowledge of the products within the portfolio At least 2 years background in financial services Degree educated Relevant marketing qualification Key Issues over the next 12-24 months Assist with delivery of specific product P&Ls and strategies Build effective relationships and ways of working with the BPU and key stakeholders within the company Additional details of exceptional aspects of the demands of the role Deadline driven Company Behaviours: of particular importance to this role Drive Performance Delight Customers Build Pride and Passion Execute at Speed Grow Talent and Capability Protect and Enhance our Reputation
