Develop & aggressively deploy key new business strategies to recruit & implement acquiring & Issuing solutions within the “Medium Business Market” (operating with the largest clients within this sector) to achieve challenging objectives & goals, selling the full range of the company solutions.
The role will also include working closely with the Medium management team in the execution of the Medium business strategy, supporting strategic events to highlight and promote the company.
This will include being part of the strategic management team, working & networking with strategic members of MB&A Business Bank, and coaching / managing team members
New Business Development / 70 %
Recruit New Business, exchanging legal contracts with companies within the Medium Business market, specifically focusing upon defined market sectors, deal parameters (size and complexity).
Actively and aggressively market/sell the full the full range of business solutions.
Responsible for developing a personal sales plan to achieve targeted objectives and goals.
Pass leads to other members of the New Business team as required by set criteria.
Own/Direct/Produce and deliver new business quotations/proposals and presentation material.
Proactively create and develop new business relationships with Medium Business companies.
Build close working relationships with allocated Medium Business team contacts and other Group/external key business influencers to create New Business opportunities.
Attend relevant events to develop New Business opportunities.
Recommend best practices to Medium Business teams to drive accelerated growth and support initiatives to develop New Business opportunities.
Provide evidence of customer demand to influence new business product enhancements/solutions to Line Management, Marketing and Business Development.
Identification of cross sale opportunities and introduction of leads to the company and other relevant parts of the Group.
Strategic Support 10 %
Involves management of individuals and their performance, including coaching. May involve the completion of the full Performance Development process.
Required to act as deputy to the Regional New Business Manager, deputising at events/meetings and managing specific delegated tasks/actions/responsibilities/relationships
Create a close working relationship, through joint understanding, with all Bank Medium Business & Agriculture Teams within the region.
May also involve interaction with key decision makers and influencers within Group relative to the Medium Business & Agriculture market/business
Develop a deep understanding of the needs and requirements of clients’ businesses.
Fully understand the workings of the company, the full product portfolio, and the complex pricing and risk strategy.
Provide expertise and consultancy in evolving markets without precedent.
Produce accurate and timely sales reporting of your team / performance
Ensure various projects are instigated and carried out competently, meeting tight dead lines.
All MI functions fully updated to provide qualitative data
Financial and commercial acumen with an eye for detail.
Ability to work under pressure
Proven presentational ability
PC Skills i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Full UK Driving Licence
Knowledge and Expertise (relating to specialist knowledge and expertise required to undertake the role. May include knowledge of the Bank’s products, services and policies)
Full and extensive knowledge of the full range of the company solutions.
Working knowledge of acquiring and issuing solutions, their drivers, industry dynamics, interchange, competitor solutions and future product service deliverables.
An up to date knowledge of Industry related technical development
Thorough knowledge of the Business to Business sector.
Fully aware of Industry trends (UK and overseas).
Knowledge of relevant third party suppliers (e.g. technology) and partners.
Knowledge of the Group and its strategies relating to both domestic and overseas.
Awareness of Bank’s payment and collection strategies and services
A good working knowledge of the Banks products and services is important, as there are often opportunities to open new banking links with prospective clients.
Total awareness of the interests and relationships in existence within any prospective client.
Working knowledge and practical understanding of Law of contract and legislation and regulation as it applies to the industry.
Experience, qualifications and other requirements specific to the role
3 years minimum sales experience with a proven track record of achievement and high performance.
Proven sales management track record within a competitive sales environment.
Proven success rate in negotiation in a corporate environment.
A full sales and business development background.
May have experience in the Business to Business Financial Services Sector.
Proven experience in forecasting and costing.
Knowledge of the acquiring and/or Commercial Card industries would be an advantage but not essential.

Developing expertise in the full range of the company solutions.
Developing key strategies to maximise New Business generation and opportunities within target markets and sectors and achieving challenging objectives and goals.
To develop strong relationships within the New Business team and wider business to deliver bespoke client solutions effectively and achieve objectives and goals.
To develop a high profile presence within target markets and sectors, and develop industry knowledge, through research, networking and other relevant opportunities i.e. events.

The role holder may be expected to attend/present at relevant industry and trade seminars to represent the group at a variety of forums.
There is a need for flexibility and to be able to work to challenging deadlines when these arise. Attendance at events, entertaining and other business activities often outside business hours.
Itinerant working involving extensive business travel throughout the designated region.
