Job Title:Trainee claims adjuster
Description:Trainee claims adjuster - Kingston, Surrey Job Description Job Purpose: To adjust Accident, Sickness and Life claims within agreed authority levels, taking into consideration all the relevant factors such as benefits, medical history, and occupation, CMO and Re-insurers guidelines. Ensure all applications are dealt with accurately and within Department Service Level Agreements (SLA). Main Duties: ==> To process claims taking into consideration all the relevant factors such as benefits, medical history, occupation, CMO and re-insurers (Oscar) guidelines, to either pay the claim, decline the claim or obtain further information. ==> Complete the summary worksheet on all files handled, recording the total liability benefit payable, a chronological summary of all evidence received and reasons for your actions/decision and record all necessary information within the claims system. ==> Adjust files to the departments SLA'S these are as follows: Accident & Sickness 1st, 2nd 10 files per hour, Correspondence and Death claims 8 files per hour. These figures should be achieved once the appropriate training period has been completed (refer to individual training plan). ==> All files should be adjusted accurately and the adjustor maintains an accuracy level of 95%. ==> To complete and update Daily Work Record and daily relevant spreadsheets whenever they are required. ==> Communicate effectively with Internal and external agents' ensuring professional conduct is maintained at all times. ==> Ensure all correspondence with clients and third parties is accurate, in plain English and in accordance with the company guidelines and style. ==> Identify and refer immediately to the Technical team any complaints received orally or in writing ==> Refer immediately to the Technical team any claims that have been identified are in a high loss ratio area. ==> To score above 80% in any test conducted whether for training or FSA requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES: ==> To understand the roles of other departments and how the adjustor's role interacts with them. ==> To be fully conversant with all products at all times. ==> To be aware of all department procedures. ==> To maintain the highest standards at all times and according to company policy. ==> To be conversant with regulatory requirements such as the Data Protection Act, Disability Discrimination Act, and the rules of the FSA etc. ==> To be aware of the company and department complaints procedures and standards. ==> To be smart at all times in line with company code of dress. ==> To be aware of health and safety procedures. ==> To be responsible for identifying one's own training and development needs.
