Description:Senior Manager - Guildford, Surrey The Company Our client provides an unusually wide range of financial advisory services, which goes beyond that offered by a traditional firm of accountants or investment house. They manage the financial affairs of the private client together with his or her family or business interests. They are also expert in providing mid to large corporates, professional practices and non-profit organisations with the financial advice they need to achieve their business goals. The Role Providing clients with an efficient and effective service through the control and efficient use of the department resources and liaison with other departments to ensure close liaison with on client affairs and assisting in administration tasks to ensure a smooth running of the department. • Ensure that clients receive an efficient and proactive service and client expectations are exceeded throughout the year. • Liaison with client Directors and other staff where appropriate to ensure all are kept up to date with relevant issues. • Awareness of commercial aspects of clients = business and impact on our work. • Arrangement of timetable, booking of staff, planning review and completion of audit and other related assignments. • Monitoring of qualified and student bookings and workloads to ensure most efficient use of resources. • Liaison with junior staff to assess any issues that need dealing with. • Assisting in the general administration of the department. • Ensuring assessment forms are completed and feedback given to staff on all jobs. • Ensuring appropriate in-house and external training is received personally. • Ensuring the department is providing the support service required by other departments and vice versa. • Preparation of proposals for new work. • Attendance at marketing events. • Development of personal contacts. • Identification and development of opportunities. • Monitoring of time costs on a regular basis to ensure any problems are identified early and action taken as necessary. • Drafting of client invoices at appropriate opportunities and chasing outstanding invoices You • Good working knowledge of account and auditing standards and industry specifics and their application. • To act as a point of reference when required by staff or clients. • Good working knowledge of skill requirements of staff at various levels to ensure work undertaken by appropriate individual. • Communication skills to liaise with clients, Directors, staff and other professionals. • Communication skills to provide support to staff when required. • Management skills. • Motivation of staff to ensure best performance. • Organisation to ensure needs of clients, Directors and staff are all met. • Monitoring costs against budget for individual clients.
