Job Title:Finance/Office Manager
Description:A unique opportunity to join this new subsidiary of one of the internet\'s enduring B2C success stories, as it continues to expand by setting up operations in the UK. The US parent company is a NASDAQ listed, profitable and well established e-commerce business with little competition, operating in partnership with some of the biggest publishing and technology companies in the world. CANDIDATE PROFILE PERSONAL QUALITIES In order to succeed in the role the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following personal qualities: - A good communicator, with an outgoing personality, able to build rapport and credibility with the newly established UK team as well as colleagues at US Corporate HQ - Comfortable in an environment that requires flexibility and a pro-active, hands-on approach to their responsibilities - Ability to take responsibility for, and recognising the importance of, establishing processes and procedures to ensure adequate internal controls are in place - Keen to take complete ownership for all areas of responsibility - Adopts methodical and professional approach to projects to ensure that deadlines are met CANDIDATE PROFILE TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - Part qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA) or qualified by experience - Hands-on experience of all aspects of a busy small company accounts department - Comfortable with managing all aspects of monthly, quarterly and annual accounting routines and processes (sales, purchase and general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, cash and working capital management) - Financial and management reporting experience ideally with a US parent company set up - In-depth experience of a PC-based accounting package such as Sage - Good working knowledge of all aspects of VAT and PAYE, as applicable to a small company - Ideally someone with exposure to a B2C e-Commerce business - Experience of facilities management and general office management (manage smooth running of office, Health & Safety, liaison with external suppliers) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Set up accounting routines and processes including selection and implementation of an appropriate accounting package - Set up effective record keeping, appropriate to corporate compliance for a US listed company (ref. Sarbanes-Oxley); - Ongoing transactions processing for all financial aspects of UK operation (NOTE: revenue accounting is dealt with by the US); - Carrying out regular balance sheet reconciliations - Managing working capital and cashflow forecasting - Payroll processing - VAT, PAYE, P11D and all other statutory and fiscal returns - Bonus/commission calculations - Statutory reporting for UK entity and for UK operations into the US - Regular management reporting and ad-hoc financial analysis as required by UK Managing Director and US Corporate HQ; - Supporting the Managing Director in the planning, budgeting and forecasting processes - Liaison with relevant external suppliers/agencies/advisors - Take responsibility for all aspects of the smooth day to day running of the UK office (the company is based in serviced offices) - Provide admin support to the Managing Director
